Summary/Objective

 

The Contract Accounting Officer to be hired for a 6-months duration, is responsible for handling accounting, banking, payment, system data entry of, clerical and administrative functions for Samtec Japan LLC.

 

This position is responsible for supporting finance-related operations on a part-time, fixed-term basis, including daily finance tasks and operational support. The successful candidate will report to an overseas Controller and coordinate with internal teams as needed, while collaborating with global stakeholders.

 


Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

 

Work independently on below tasks:

-          Data entry

  • Upload invoices and key-in Japanese description into WorkDay system.
  • Upload invoices into Richo system and generate reports for TMF/Samtec Accounting teams.
  • Handle and manage Jinjer system for expense report review, generate report for TMF / Samtec Accounting teams  next actions.
  • Petty cash management
  • Handle Import-related tax payments (e.g., consumption tax)

 

-          Reconciliation

  • Coordination with accounting and tax firms – TMF, PWC (eg. payments, documentation, reports…etc)
  • Provide Accounting support:
    • Invoice creation
    • Shipment/billing review
    • Accounting/Finance-related communication

-          Bank operation

  • Handle/Support MUFJ online banking operations
  • Handle/Support Citi Bank online banking operations

-          Other

  • Handle Government and regulatory submissions
  • Project Lead on implementation of accounting systems, including testing transactions and follow-up
  • Support growth initiatives in the region from accounting/costing perspective
  • Assists Asia accounting team as needed or any tasks at the direction of company directors / company headquarters
  • Reporting to Samtec Asia Pacific (M) Sdn Bhd - Asia Financial Controller



Required Experience

  • Comfortable with working on international accounting and across countries/languages
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Accounting background
  • Be able to build good relationships with stakeholders.
  • English proficiency is required, including reading, writing, and verbal communication

 

 

 

Preferred Experience

  • Practical experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Comfortable with working on international accounting and across countries/languages 

Preferred Education

  • Diploma in Accountancy or Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Professional Accounting Qualification / related technical or equivalent experience.

 

Training Required:

  • On the Job Training by HR Specialist

  • English, & Japanese

Work Hours 

4 days a week

9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (1-hour break).
